April 27, 2010 . . . The Celebration Continues with "Angelina Ballerina" at the El Dorado Hills Library
As with years past, Ms. Georgina Coleman transformed into a Ballerina mouse, reading "Angelina Ballerina" to some little dancers at the El Dorado Hills Library. The rain came, but that did not stop the little boys and girls from attending what has become an annual event. Ms. Georgina read and danced with the children, teaching the boys how to bow and the girls to curtsy, while dressed in a pink tutu and mouse ears. Thank you to the El Dorado Hills Library allowing "Angelina Ballerina" to visit! Click on our "Gallery" button on the left for photos . . .
April 26, 2010 . . . CSDA Celebrates National Dance Week© with Guests from So You Think You Can Dance
Wow . . . what a GREAT start to National Dance Week©! The past weekend was filled with master dance classes taught by guest instructors Noelle Marsh, Pauline Mata and Ryan Ramirez. Noelle Marsh and Pauline Mata were contestants on Season 6 of So You Think You Can Dance , finishing in the top 10 and top 20, respectively. Ryan Ramirez was an assistant to Mia Michaels during seasons 4 & 5 and is a hopeful for Season 7.
Friday started with introductions, shirt signings and Q&A before getting into dance. During the Improv Technique class, Noelle Marsh and Ryan Ramirez treated the studio to an Improvisation to "Until We Bleed". It was inspiring to the young dancers in attendance, demonstrating how Improvisation can appear to be choreographed.
Saturday saw the energy rise, with dancers taking additional classes, often from their favorite guest dancer. Those that stayed around until the end of classes in the evening were again treated to some amazing choreography and dancing. Ryan, Noelle, Pauline and Pauline's assistant, Seth Zibalese, performed, showing their love of dance.
By the end of classes on Sunday, everyone had a full weekend of fun, dance and excitement. It was a perfect way to start the celebration of National Dance Week©.
Center Stage would like to thank Noelle Marsh, Pauline Mata and Ryan Ramirez for finding time in their schedules and provide El Dorado Hills with a fantastic weekend of dance. Thank you's also go out to the Meissner family who provided accommodations, to Andrew Tran for being the facilitator, to Vivien Stoudamiere, Linda Taylor and all those that made this possible!
