December 19, 2009 . . . "The Dancer's Gift" Raises Over $9500 for Shriners Hospital for Children
Donating to Shriners Hospital WOW! What a fantastic performance by the dance students of Center Stage Dance Academy. The weather was perfect and besides a small snafu with the parking lot, the day went on without a hitch. The 6th Annual Holiday Benefit was a huge success, donating just over $9500 to Shriners Hospital for Children.
The showed opened with Georgina Coleman introducing Shriners Hospital for Children as this year's recipient of toys, gifts and ticket proceeds, then introducing the special hostess for the day, Miss. Emily Martorana. Shriners Hospital for Children took great care of Miss Emily last year after she suffered a broken thigh from a fall, thus making Shriners Hospital an obvious choice to be the beneficiary of "The Dancer's Gift".
As with past performances, the choreography by the talented faculty was superb. The standing room only audience was treated to routines using a variety of holiday music including "You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch", "Silver Belles", "Winter Song". Peanuts Christmas Medley, "Deck the Halls" and "Gift Wrapped Boy". The Adult Tap class moved their feet to "Silent Night", while the Teen Hip Hop class danced to "Home for Christmas. And no holiday performance would be complete without music from "The Nutcracker". The XtravaDanzerz Ballet Compani showed their talent with "Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy", the fast moving Russian Dance and the ribbon twirling of the Chinese Dance.
Thank you everyone for making this year's Holiday Benefit a record breaker. A special "Thank you" to Golden Hills School for again donating their facility, to the faculty, staff, parents, students and volunteers of Center Stage Dance Academy, to Clarity AVL, Inc. for providing the sound system and to Golden State Building Services for providing cleaning services. A performance such as this requires many hours of hard work, so "Thank you" to everyone for taking the time during this holiday season!!

November 28, 2009 . . . CSDA Performs at El Dorado Hills Tree Lighting
On a cold, clear evening in El Dorado Hills, Center Stage Dance Academy's SpecTAPular, Fuzionz and XtravaDanzerz Compani's performed to a packed crowd. With CSDA's Compani Danzerz starting off the live entertainment with some tap, ballet and jazz, the atomosphere was festive, the audience in a cheery holiday mood. Even Santa and Ms. Claus popped in for a visit, helping out with lighting the tree.

Thank You From Center Stage Dance Academy!

June 30, 2009 . . . "Dream, Believe, Dance" CSDA's Recital A Smashing Hit!
Center Stage Dance Academy's annual recital was something to watch. It showcased the various dance styles CSDA has to offer, from Hip Hop to Ballet, Polynesian to Ballroom, Jazz to Modern and much more. The dancers were inspirational, with Georgina Coleman, Owner/Director of Center Stage Dance Academy, telling the story of how one of the studio's own dancer's, Emily Martorana, wasn't going to miss out on this recital just because of surgery on her hips. The young dancers in the "Now We Are Three" and "Combo" classes got the recital started showing the beginnings of ballerinas and tap dancers. A mixture of young children, pre-teens and teenagers danced the afternoon away to three well attended performances. The tappers in the Compani Tap groups, FanTAPulous and SpecTAPular, lived up to their names in "Jump, Jive and Wail" treating the crowd to an energetic and fun routine. Grace and beauty were on display with the various ballet, modern and jazz routines performed by the Ballet and Jazz Compani groups, XtravaDanzerz, Inzpirationz, Fuzionz and Vizionz. The Teen Ballroom group made their first performance with "Mambo #5" and the Hip Hop/Break Dance groups were "driving" all over the stage with "Shut Up and Drive". It was a great afternoon of dance capped off with a surprise picture slide show of the dancers who graduated from high school this year and will be off to college. It was evident that those dancers, Heather Clark, Leah Hackney, Leah Hendrix-Smith, Sarah Marshall, Leslie Shields and Kelsey Smith will be missed by the staff at CSDA. Georgina Coleman closed the recital with "Thanks" to Folsom High School for allowing CSDA to use the Jill Solberg Theater and to the wonderful faculty and VIVA group of Center Stage Dance Academy, both of which are vital to the success of the studio and recital!

May 9, 2009 . . . CSDA Performs at El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire
Center Stage Dance Academy returned to the El Dorado Hills Art & Wine Affaire with great performances by some of our Compani Danzerz. With Georgina Coleman introducing the Danzerz, the crowd was treated to a sampling of tap, ballet and jazz. FanTAPulous and SpecTAPular each performed Acapella tap, while Ryan Blanning wowed the crowd with his Blame It On The Boogie solo routine. The Xtrava Danzerz and Inzpirationz Companis showed their grace and beauty performing Sleeping Beauty Variations and Midsummer Night's Dream, respectively. Vizionz, our Jr. Jazz Compani, closed out the performance, dancing Allegretto, treating the audience to another great routine.Visit our Gallery for photos.

April 29, 2009 . . . Georgina Coleman as "Angelina Ballerina" at the El Dorado Hills Library
Center Stage Dance Academy's director, Georgina Coleman, put on her mouse ears and pink tutu and danced down to the El Dorado Hills Library to entertain the children as "Angelina Ballerina" in celebration of National Dance Week. The normal Story time room was abandoned for the larger meeting room to accommodate all the children and parents that arrived in anticipation of "Angelina Ballerina".
As in years past, Georgina had full attention of the children as she read to them, while coaxing them to dance with her around the room. She had a little help from a couple of her XtravaDanzerz who took time out from their busy schedules of school and dance to show the children a few dance moves. We all wait for next year's arrival of "Angelina Ballerina"!
